Paphos offers you a lot of history, beautiful buildings and a lot of things to do. You can go for a walk to the city and see some of the beautiful churches. You can go for a walk along the seafront promenade to the old fort of Paphos or you can go to the archeological site “Tomb of the kings” just outside Paphos. Furthermore you can rent a car and go to the beautiful “Lara Bay Beach”, where the big sea turtles lay their eggs every year in July/August. Lara Bay Beach is a fantastic bathing beach, and being located in a bay the water here is generally warmer than elsewhere.
If you want to go to a market, you can go to the old part of the town “Pano Paphos”. Here it is possible to find all sorts of things to fair prices. There are lots of Cafés, so if you need a rest or a cold refreshment just take a seat and the waiter will take care of you.
You can go to the small fishing village Latsi in the northwestern part of the island. From here you can go on a trip by a "glass bottom boat" and enjoy the beautiful sight of the island from the water. West of the city Latsi you will find "Bath of Aphrodite". The water in this bath is believed to give you eternal youth, whether it is true only time will tell…
Not far from from Paphos city there are plenty of activities for kids, youngsters and adults. On the beach behind “Alexander the Great hotel” you will find “Paphos Water Sports”, here you will find all the water sport activities you wish for: Jet ski, Parasailing, Banana boat, Catamaran, Speed boat etc. etc.
If the activities at sea are not enough, you can go to “Aphrodite Water Park”, which is only a 15 minutes’ drive away. This is one of the largest water parks in Cyprus and has everything a water park should have. 10-15 minutes’ drive from the city it is possible to go by go-carts. If you want to experience Paphos and Cyprus from the air it is possible to go on a tour by Helicopter for about 75€.
For those who like a glass of wine there is a possibility to taste different wines of Cyprus only 30 minutes’ drive from the city at “Kolios Vineyard”. You can taste the different wines and hear about the production of them while enjoying a traditional meze (Cypriot food consisting of 16-20 different dishes) and the stunning view over the mountains.
